Savannah – in the Spotlight

    Southern Living – April 2018

Celebrated as one of the South’s Best Cities by Southern Living, April 2018.

Savannah, Georgia has just been named as one of the South’s Best Cities by Southern Living, and as a Savannah resident – I couldn’t agree more.

Savannah has so much to embellish the quality of life, and for those of us who call Savannah home, you’re minutes from everything you could want to do or see on vacation.  Who doesn’t love a coastal town for walking along one of the nearby island beaches or launching your boat to meander on the intracoastal water-way.  And there’s much more:

The Historic District – for horse-drawn carriage rides through the historic squares and the myriad of tours on trolleys or on foot to learn more about our heritage, museums, places of worship, shops and eateries.

The Food – for foodies Savannah is heaven with everything from low-country boils to Paula Deen’s to fine dining.

The Special Events – for endless ways to socialize and de-stress whether it’s the big events like the Rock-n-Roll Marathon, SCAD Film Festival, and the Food& Wine Festival or the weekly events on Forsyth Park – there is always something you can do to help support the community while having fun.

The Weather – for outdoor recreation of all kinds including golfing, tennis, sailing, cycling, and jogging or walking.

The Beautiful Scenery – of the ancient oak trees that canopy the historic district with Spanish Moss waving in the coastal breeze and the coastal views of the marsh and its creeks that serpentine into the Pacific Ocean.

When I think about what makes Savannah one of the best cities in the south to me, it’s community.  After 23 wonderful years on Dutch Island where we brought up our children, we moved to the Landings at Skidaway Island.   The Landings is a resort-like community with a gorgeous backdrop of tidal marshes and the Intracoastal Waterway.  It has everything from patio homes to estates, and its active, outdoor lifestyle is what I enjoy most.  It’s a short distance from the city-center and historical district, too.  I especially enjoy tennis and support local events such as the Joseph/Candler Savannah Challenger, a USTA Pro Circuit Event that is coming up later this month.  For a chance to win VIP tickets, go like our Facebook Page, just click here.

If you are interested in knowing more about the Landings’ residential offerings, my team has over 38 years of residency, collectively at the Landings.  Let us be the first to welcome you to our community and show you around.  Check out the current listings here.
